Abstract

I would like to share my experience of staying at the University of Dundee in Scotland for almost three years since 2019, and describe my findings by comparing it with my previous stay in the US. During my stay, I have experienced significant changes such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK’s departure from the EU, and the Ukraine crisis. I would also like to share my experiences of the local situation during these events. I’d be more than happy if this article could offer some encouragement to people who are considering the challenge of research activities abroad.
