Abstract

This paper describes the process of developing an illustration for informed assent by a team of designers, nurses, and illustrators. The three requirements for the illustrations were as follows, "to attract the interest of elementary school children" "to be easy to use for both boy and girl" and "to be drawn in a specific way so that the child's image does not diverge from reality ". 46 illustrations were completed 1) plotting by the designer, 2) rough drafting by the illustrator, and 3) medical supervision by the nurse.
