Abstract
A community bus was modified to an EV, and a 9-month field test was conducted on a mountainous route in Fukushima Prefecture. According to the test data under various driving conditions such as urban, suburban, and mountainous areas, as well as weather conditions including various ambient temperature and solar irradiance, the effects of each factor on the electric consumption of PV-equipped vehicles were analyzed. The calculation model was developed and validated by comparing with the vehicle test data, and the potential of energy consumption reduction through the onboard PV system and its contributing factors were evaluated.
