Abstract
<p>Effective disaster preparedness and response through self-help and mutual aid require ongoing development at the local level. Tama New Town aims to be a resilient community, capable of anticipating, withstanding, and recovering from disasters. In pursuit of this goal, Tama University and local residents (Renkoji and Hijirigaoka Community Welfare Promotion Committee) collaborated to conduct a disaster response simulation known as the "Crossroads Game." This paper seeks to assess the efficacy of the Crossroads Game in fostering a disaster-resilient community among local residents, utilizing a soft systems approach."</p>
