Description

Decarbonization in agriculture is needed to achieve a carbon-neutral society. This study proposed a definition of net Zero Energy Greenhouse (ZEG) and net Zero Energy Farm (ZEF). For ZEG, a labelling method based on the balance of annual energy demand and supply during operation is developed. An evaluation method of ZEF was proposed based on the balance of delivered and exported energy between the farm’s site boundary. Additionally, this study developed a calculation method for annual energy consumption and CO2 emission in a greenhouse or farm for the quantitative evaluation of ZEG and ZEF.
