Description
This paper proposes a new approach to compute Birnbaum importance for every component of system, where this importance measure is useful to identify which component's reliability should be improved with high priority. The computational complexity of existing method to compute it is equivalent to the computational complexity of n times repetitions of computations of system reliabilities, where n is the number of components. While an existing method succeeded to avoid this repetition, we can apply it for very limited class of combinatorial model. Now, our proposal enables us to avoid repetitions, if we use SDP method to compute system reliability.
