Description

Cases 1, 2, and 3 are women in their 50s, 40s, and 60s, respectively, who noticed pruritus and erosion in the vulvas, 2-5 years before their first visit. They presented with nodules, 2-4 cm in diameter, on the labia minora or majora and sclerous whitish areas in the surrounding vulvar mucosa. Histopathological examination of skin biopsies revealed squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in the nodules, and we removed the nodules. Epidermal atrophy, liquefaction degeneration of the dermoepidermal junction, superficial intradermal infiltration of lymphocytes, swelling, and proliferation of collagen fibers are observed in the skin around the tumors, resulting in lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA). Therefore, SCC with LSA was diagnosed.[Skin Cancer (Japan) 2023 ; 38 : 204-210]
