• Effect of Gripping Condition on Sensory Measurement of Flexible Material Stiffness by Gripping Tools Simulating Forceps

抄録

In endoscopic surgery, the forceps attached to many kinds of gripping clips have been used, and stiffness discrimination is changed by its gripping clip. However, it is not clear which parameter of the gripping clip affects stiffness discrimination. The objective of this study is to consider the design policy of forceps shape that reduces the difference in sensation between direct palpation and using forceps. Therefore, in this study, gripping tools simulating forceps were produced, and a sensory test was carried out by Scheffé’s paired comparison. The specimens for the sensory test used silicon rubbers with different stiffness. The objective of the test is to evaluate the effect of sample thickness and contact area on the stiffness sense. From the results of the scale graph of the average degree of preference by Scheffé’s method and the comparison of interval scale differences in σ by Thurstone’s method, it was clear that the thicker sample and the smaller contact area with the specimens, the easier it was to discriminate stiffness. Finally, based on these results, the decision criteria for the stiffness sense of the sample during the sensory measurement were considered.
