Abstract

In this study, geopolymer formation behavior and optimum curing temperatures were investigated using calcined allophane, which has not been used as a cementitious material until now. As a result, powder X-ray diffraction showed the appearance of amorphous peaks, and 27Al, 29Si DD/CP MAS NMR analysis showed Q4 peaks indicating a three-dimensional structure, confirming that an amorphous polymer with a three-dimensional structure could be made. In addition, the curing temperature of 20℃ showed good strength development characteristics, while curing at 80℃ resulted in progression of zeolitization, leading to a decrease in strength. From the above, it was concluded that a curing temperature of 20℃ is the optimum curing temperature, and that geopolymer cured bodies with practicality can be produced even when Calcination Allophane is used.
