[Abstract] Increasing vocabulary is essential for the development of comprehensive English language skills. This study aimed to develop a learning support tool that enables English language learners to easily create their own learning materials to acquire vocabulary in their fields of interest. First, we developed an English vocabulary learning support tool for personal computers and smartphones. We created it by incorporating a list of English words in order of frequency, a lemma list, a translation application programming interface, and a text-to-speech system. Next, we conducted a trial test of this prototype system with 22 Japanese university students as the study participants and administered a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was composed of Likertscale multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions. According to the findings, the participants indicated that they felt the learning effects of using the materials and would like to continue using the system.
