Abstract

This paper examines the feasibility of expanding sales per customer by using “Michi no Eki Kadena Souvenir Shop” as a model store for cross-border business, positioning Japan Post as an international logistics service, and implementing an “International Delivery Service at Store Reception”. As a result, the average amount spent per customer increased from approximately 10 times to 11 times. This is believed to have been aimed at reducing shipping(freight) costs, especially through bulk purchases. The “International Delivery Service at Store Reception” is expected to contribute greatly to a new cross-border business model for retail stores during the post-corona era.
