説明

Phase contrast imaging (PCI) is used to measure small change of refractive index of transparent media. By using CO2 laser, PCI can be used for the measurements of micro-turbulence in magnetically confined high temperature plasma. The small phase variation is converted to small intensity variation giving a quarter wavelength phase difference of laser wavelength between scatter and un-escalated laser radiation. This schema enables high sensitivities. Two dimensional measurements with use of magnetic field structure, spatially resolved measurements of turbulence along viewing sight become possible.
