説明
This paper explores the historical significance of entertainment in people’s leisure pursuits, with a focus on Oktoberfest in Munich from 1810 to 1913 as a case study. Festival’s role in providing entertainment has been a topic of historical inquiry, offering insight into leisure activities in the modern world. However, previous studies have solely treated festivals as extraordinary events, neglecting their connection to daily life. This paper aims to bridge this gap by analyzing how festivals as forms of entertainment gradually integrated into everyday leisure activities. Through this examination, it will become evident how the remarkable experiences at festivals became intertwined with daily life in communities across regions, facilitated through entertainers and the consumption of beer.
