In the era of Society 5.0, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in English education marks a significant shift towards a more interconnected and technologically advanced learning environment. This study investigates the impact and potentials of AI applications in enhancing English language teaching and learning methodologies. With rapid technological advancements, particularly in AI, educational paradigms have evolved from traditional methods to more personalized and immersive experiences. Tools like ChatGPT have revolutionized English education by providing customized learning experiences that adapt to individual learner needs. The paper discusses key implementations of AI in English education, including real-time, interactive learning environments that use AI-driven analytics to offer a semantic and distributed processing of information. Additionally, the study examines AI's role in facilitating cross-cultural communication and international collaboration, significantly contributing to global literacy enhancement. The results show that AI supports the customization of vocabulary and grammar instruction based on learners' progress and enhances their ability to interact in English through automated, context-aware suggestions and corrections. These technologies have been crucial in creating more dynamic and engaging learning environments that support both teachers and learners.
