<p>In this paper, I will clarify the legal constraints faced when considering the introduction of free-floating car-sharing services under Japan's current law, the extent to which the introduction of such services is legally possible, and the legal challenges that will occur if such services are introduced. After reviewing the legal feasibility of on-street parking, I will touch on parking on sidewalks and the creation of parking spaces on public roads before discussing the relocation and removal of vehicles by authorities.</p>
