<p>As a new optical fiber that breaks through the limitations of conventional glass core fibers, hollow core fibers, which confine the light in air due to photonic bandgap and anti-resonant phenomena, are attracting attention. In this paper, we describe the basics of hollow core fibers, the current situations, and the prospects for social implementations.</p>
