説明

Environmental transition refers to changes in the relationship between humans and their environment caused by various events, such as starting school, moving, or disasters. This study uses a transactional perspective that views this relationship as mutually influential, and focuses on environmental transition as a key theme. Further, this study aims to clarify future challenges by reviewing domestic research and identifying trends. Three major research topics were identified: (1) residential transitions, (2) hospital admissions and discharges, and (3) transitions between educational systems. Additionally, the need for intervention research incorporating the theoretical background of environmental transition is highlighted. Based on this, its potential applications in clinical psychology, especially within practical fields, were explored. The findings suggest that preventive approaches to critical transitions are particularly relevant for those who struggle to engage with their environment, such as older adults. Thus, clinical psychology should focus on developing transition models aimed at providing preventive psychological support that is adaptable to individual cases.
