Abstract

A sphere’s optical response property having a size that is smaller than the optical wavelength and a dispersed structure can be regarded as an LCR equivalent circuit with the near field light considered to act as a condenser. Based on these considerations, we can expect that even a random dispersed nano structure will act as a metamaterial or metasurface. We developed a light control metasurface to prevent solar heating by using randomly dispersed silver nano discs (NASIP). This report describes the principle and capabilities of a randomly dispersed metasurface with NASIP.
