Abstract
Load bearing deterioration of existing aged transmission towers due to corrosion is estimated by periodic inspections and numerical analyses. However, efficient classification of the deterioration level is inevitably requested, since a lot of anxious towers may exist. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the performance of commercially available high-resolution camera and data processing technique to derive the natural frequencies and modes of the towers. It is clarified that the cameras with high resolution are compassable and template matching of feature point is useful for tracking. It is also clarified that natural vibration analysis using multidimensional auto-covariance matrix is stably solvable for external noises.
