Description

Sphagnum subnitens Russow & Warnst. var. nitidum (Warnst.) H.A.Crum is reported as a new addition to the moss flora of the Korean Peninsula based on the specimen collected at the Mt. Baekdusan in North Korea. Sphagnum subnitens var. nitidum is characterized by the soft plants never tinged with red, broadly oblong stem leaves with right-angled apex narrowed toward the tip, and the border of stem leaves moderately broadened at the base.
