Abstract

A micro-factory system, with which microbeads can be directly handled, processed, assembled to manufacture diverse multi-functional devices, is strongly required for next generation micro-manufacturing. We propose ″Cell-in-Microfactory System″ as a system to manufacture devices in square millimeters region driven mainly by light energy. In this report, we propose a particle array-delivery system using near-surface light wave as one of the element technologies for the factory. With this system, microparticles are expected to be arrayed and delivered near the surface. We conducted experiments with several kinds of particles to investigate the feasibility of the delivery system.
