抄録

Carbon/carbon composites are prepared by pyrolysis of mixture of COG tar and low grade cokes or pyrolyzed chars from lignite and sub-bituminous coals. The indirect tensile strength of each composite prepared reaches about 7.5MPa, which is comparable to that of high grade coke used in commercial blast furnaces. Although the CO2 gasification rates of composites prepared from low grade cokes become lower than those of original samples, those of composites from pyrolyzed chars are almost same. From the results of O2 adsorption TPD runs of samples before and after compositing, it is suggested that the decreasing gasification rates of composites prepared from cokes may occurs due to decrease in active sites on original cokes for gasification.
