Abstract
In order to apply sonochemistry industrially, it is important to scale up a sonochemical reactor efficiently. Electric acoustic conversion efficiency of a transducer is one of important factors to specify the efficiency of the sonochemical reactor. The experiment was carried out using a cylindrical acrylic pipe at frequencies of 45 kHz, 129 kHz, 231 kHz and 490 kHz. The efficiency of transducers was investigated as a function of liquid heights from 10 mm to 500 mm by calorimetry. The 490 kHz transducer had the high efficiency of 88%. The efficiency of the transducer depended on the liquid height and the ultrasonic frequency.
