Description
Under the early heating culture of 'Tone-wase' persimmon (Diospyros kaki Thunb.) the annual flower formations considerably fluctuate, causing the unstable fruit production. Since the one of the important reason for the poor flower formations is insufficient sunshine at the time of the flower-bud differentiation in many fruit species, we conducted the shading treatment to the trees at the different period from full bloom(FB) to 9 weeks after full bloom(WAFB), and then counted the number of leaves per fruit and total flowerbuds in the next year to elucidate the critical period of flower-bud differentiation. The shading treatment between FB to 6 WAFB decreased the flower buds, while that of 6 to 9 WAFB did not influence the flower-bud differentiation. These results show that the management of light condition in the greenhouse at the period of between FB to 6 WAFB is crucial for stabilizing the flower buds formations.
