Description
Fuel spray characteristics are affected by cavitation flows in a fuel injector nozzle. Cavitation in nozzles with various holes lengths and jets are visualized. As a result, we find that different flow characteristics of nozzles with a short hole length and a long hole length result in different characteristics of cavitation in the nozzles and the liquid jets. Especially in a super cavitation condition, cavitation characteristics of the nozzle with the short hole length are unstable from the hole inlet to the exit and large scale discharges of cavitation near the nozzle hole exit influence large scale deformations of the liquid jet.
