Abstract

To consider an appropriate requirement of a burst pressure of compressed-hydrogen tanks for fuel cell vehicles, an influence of hydraulic sequential tests on the burst pressure of the tanks has been evaluated in the previous paper. In this 2nd paper, a relationship between the damage state of compressed-hydrogen tank and the degradation of the burst pressure is investigated by ultrasonic flaw detection and CT scanning. As a result, it has been clarified that the delamination of CFRP in the drop test and the expansion of the delamination in the pressure cycling test are main factors of degradation of the burst pressure.
