<p>This paper examines how comprehensively the “Weekly Guide of New Japanese Publications” “Weekly Guide” of the TRC, Inc. covers new publications in Japan. Our survey has revealed that, while the “Weekly Guide” contains most of the new books, it excludes some publications without reasonable reasons. We suggest that public libraries are required to know this fact of the “Weekly Guide” in their book selection.</p>
