Abstract

The contemporary art event, Toukaidoucyu-Terashi-matsuri the 2nd which was held at Higashimikawa Furusato Park in April 2008 was held to inspire a community in Higashi Mikawa Area. The author attended to this event as director and artist. It was our hope that it would be effective in developing cultural awareness from the viewpoint of Life Long Education. Therefore, Toukaidoucyu-Terashi-matsuri was set up to be an effective event for cultural development in this area. This event was held under the Copy as “ changing things which can't be changed ” with an idea of visualizing important topics through art such as affirmative socializing and destruction of nature. This event is settled as new cultural exchange of modern art, through sending message from local community by understanding this event as art education program by means of life-long education and inspire of local community communication, and it also settled to open some chance to see modern art as new expression for local community. In the situation of lack of curator, due to cultivate an attitude to become familiar and deeply understand modern art works, guide book and challenging new way of expression of modern art was held experimentally. Also, questionnaire was held to research how to publish this event to wide area and from the result, it is necessary to use paper media for effective publicity. As further subject, it will be lined up such as clear guide of this event including art works, wide area publicity of this event, and stronger connection with actual education organizations.
