Abstract

The primary objective of our study is to clarify the droplet disintegration process in the secondary atomization phenomena during droplet burning of emulsion. Iterative droplet combustion experiments have been carried out about a n-hexadecane/water emulsion droplet, which was suspended at the tip of a quartz filament, in a quiescent air environment. The results showed that the dispersion rate for occurrences of micro-explosion increase with an increase of droplet lifetime. Disintegration process of a droplet depends on the radial position of initial bubble nucleation depends. It is guessed that an increase of droplet temperature affects on the dispersion of droplet.
