Description

<p>A magnetic heat pump is a heat pump technology based on a magnetocaloric effect (MCE). In order to improve the refrigeration capacity of the magnetic heat pump, two methods can be considered: (1) maximizing the temperature change of the magnetic working material, and (2) increasing the frequency of the magnetic heat pump cycle. In this study, the influence on the temperature span in the frequency of active magnetic regenerator (AMR) cycle was compared by numerical analysis and experiment under same conditions. Although the temperature span was obtained from numerical analysis and experimental results, it showed different behavior. The temperature span decreases on the frequency of the AMR cycle increases in numerical analysis. On the other hand, the temperature span increased on the frequency of the AMR cycle increased in the experiment. It has been observed that the actual flow rate is reduced due to the flow deviation and the residual air in the flow path in experiment. This is considered to be in the region showing an upward trend toward the peak. It is thought that this difference appears in the difference between the analytic tendency and the experimental tendency.</p>
