<p>This research seeks to examine how the concept of displacement and Marcuse’s categorisation of displacement are deployed in gentrification studies and how new perspectives or approaches are being explored. Basically, referring to the contents of Marcuse's research and the five recent articles, this research organises the concept of displacement as presented in those studies and picks out viewpoints and research methods necessary for future gentrification research. As a result, it becomes clear that Marcuse’s categorisation of displacement is still essential today and often referenced in gentrification studies, and the five articles referred to in this study are worthwhile reminders of this.</p>
