Abstract
<p>The impact of human activity on vegetation of forest-steppe in Baluun Salaa,northern Ulaanbaatar,Mongolia, was studied. Based on the results from vegetation and soil surveys, it became clear that the research area had a few forest fire within 100 years caused by human activities and the area's vegetation have changed mainly by fire.</p><p>Moreover,the transition area between two species of trees; European Pine and Birch, was shifting during several decades. Soil properties and current vegetation showed slight relationships.</p>
