Abstract

<p>Chuetsu Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. Sendai Mill produces pulp and paper in South Kyushu, which has abundant forest resources. The Sendai Mill had an advantage for the woody biomass power generation business because it had a resource background and a wood collection system. The feed‒in tariff system for renewable energy （FIT system） started in July 2012. In November 2015, a new woddy biomass fuel power generation facility using this system was established. Two problems occurred after the introduction of the equipment. The fi rst is a decrease in output due to fuel moisture, the second is the output decreased due to the fuel input method. In order to solve these problems, we installed a moisture sensor （MCT460） manufactured by Process Sensors corporation. And Moisture meter instruction was incorporated into ACC （automatic combustion control） control which is boiler control. In addition, a microwave level meter （MWLM） manufactured by Matsushima Measure Tech Co., Ltd. was installed. As a result, the power generation output was stabilized. This paper introduces the background of the introduction of both instruments and the situation after the introduction.</p>
