Abstract
The current arthropod pest fauna on avocado plant in Kagoshima prefecture is investigated in seven places of its production (Hioki City, Ibusuki City, Tarumizu City, Kagoshima City, Minami-satsuma City, Amami City and Setouchi Town) from 2015 to 2019. Status of damage by arthropod pests, one species of Acari, one of Thysanoptera, fifteen of Hemiptera, three of Coleoptera and seven of Lepidoptera are reported. On avocados, Aleurotrachelus anonae (Hemiptera, Aleyrodidae), Parabemisia myricae (Hemiptera, Aleyrodidae), Paradasynus spinosus (Hemiptera, Coreidae) and Homona magnanima (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) were considered as potential serious pests in Kagoshima. During the course of the study, A. anonae attack on the plant was reported for the first time in Kagoshima prefecture in 2018.
