When we memorize a form in our mind and remember it after a few minutes, we can reproduce only a rough sketch of the form without the details contained in the original pattern. So, generally speaking, the information involved in a form may be said to consist of two parts : Dominant information and Details. Uesaka[1984] has proposed a new type of Fourier descriptor that is obtained by expanding in Fourier series the complex-valued exponential function of the total curvature function of a form, and using this descriptor he has shown that how to extract the rough sketch from the original form. Unfortunately, for some forms, his method of extraction has a disadvantage from a psychologial point of view. The present paper will give a new method of extraction, overcomming the disadvantage and indicating the existence of a new expanding series which is more consistent to the visual psychology.
