Description

<p>In recent years, the number of researches on the constructions of Imperial Palace performed eight times during the Edo Period has increased. They have revealed not only the tendency of the art world of those days but also the real state of Imperial Court and the Tokugawa shogunate, attracting attention in the fiel of art history. However, only a few know that Iehiro, the 21st head of the Konoe family played an important role in making 'Kenjo-no Shoji' decorating Shishin-den Hall at the reconstruction after the fir in 1708. The purpose of this article is to uncover Iehiro's view of art history through rereading "Kaiki" and to find out what historical context Iehiro tried to put 'Kenjo-no Shoji' in.</p>
