Abstract
<p> It is difficult to estimate the axial resistance of a large-diameter steel-pipe pile used as an open-ended pile. Partition plates may be attached to increase point bearing capacity of the pile, however, its effect is not clear. This paper reports the details of the rapid load test of a large-diameter open-ended pile with a partition plate performed at Yatsushiro Port. Base on the test results, both the shaft resistance ratio and the plugging effect ratio were examined, and it was confirmed that the result consistent with past studies were obtained. The authors plan to proceed with the design and construction of structures based on the information obtained.</p>
