<p>This paper analyzes intra-industry trade of the food processing sector in Thailand and Malaysia using Grubel-Lloyd (GL) indices during 2000–2016. The GL indices for Malaysia are found to be higher than the average GL index for East Asian countries in the same period. On the other hand, the indices for Thailand are lower than the average. The reason is that the GL index for BEC 122 (processed food for household consumption) in Malaysia is high and has a larger trade weight.</p>
