Abstract

In this study, we aimed to predict the future disappearance of vegetation inhabiting beach vegetation in Japan by sea level rise using GIS, and clarified the relationship between sea level rise and vegetation loss area. In addition, we investigated the cultivable area according to the amount of sea level rise.

The risk of disappearance due to sea level rise was found to be small for the four rare species extracted. On the other hand, for the universal species, there was a considerable variation in the disappearance rate. In addition, it was found that the habitat gradually decreased at each stage of sea level rise, even though the habitat increased and decreased repeatedly.
