<p>A questionnaire survey was conducted on disaster preparedness for detached houses in Satte City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Of the 5,200 questionnaires distributed, which is equivalent to 34.8% of all detached houses in Satte City 2,822 questionnaires were collected, and the response rate was 54.3%. As a result of the awareness survey on voluntary disaster prevention, the proportion of households with unknown evacuation sites was higher for older and smaller households. In particular, it is important to always provide support for elderly households living under two. Regarding stockpiling, only 12.4% of households stocked emergency toilets at home. In addition, although many people are concerned about toilets in the event of a disaster, the proportion of households who had prepared toilets at home was very low. </p>
