- Identification Method of Moment of Inertia for Dynamic Modelling of Differential Planetary Gear Train

<p>While the differential planetary gear train is used in many machines, its dynamic characteristics have not been sufficiently clarified due to the fact that it has multiple input/output relationships and the planetary motion with different meshing states. In this study, therefore, the Lagrange equation was solved to derive the equation of motion necessary for the dynamic modeling of the differential planetary gear train, and the equivalent moment of inertia around the carrier was derived. We also verified the equivalent moment of inertia using an actual machine and proposed a method for deriving the loss torque using the equivalent moment of inertia.</p>
