Description

“Connected Medicine” such as new medical service including “Medical MaaS”, which incorporates advanced technology and MaaS ideas, has been considered for reducing burdens associated with patients' hospital visits. Furthermore, the influence of COVID-19 is expected to change forms of treatment. This study used an original questionnaire survey and categorization of cities using multiple medical service indicators to assess hospital patient attitudes and behaviors and to examine intentions to use “Connected Medicine” in environments influenced by COVID-19. Results showed that effects of medical treatment behavior, attitudes, and COVID-19 were more pronounced on the intention to use “Connected Medicine” than differences in urban types based on medical services. Consideration of the frequency and mode of transportation is important when introducing “Connected Medicine”.
