Description
The well worm goby, Luciogobius pallidus Regan, 1940 (Perciformes: Gobiidae) collected from Hiwasa-gawa, Kaifu-gawa and Shishikui-gawa rivers running through the southern part of Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. The specimens represent the first records of the species from the rivers that flow into the Pacific Ocean of the prefecture. The specimens collected from the three rivers were found to comprise two types, i.e., Freshwater type and Brackish water type, based on the morphological and ecological traits.
