Abstract

The correlation between the secondary undulations and long ocean waves was investigated using the sea-level data observed at five stations in the west coast of southern Kyushu. As a result, it was suggested that the monitoring of the ocean long waves at Meshima (Nakano-shima) Island is effective in predicting the occurrence of the secondary undulations at Oshima (Makurazaki) fishing port. The large secondary undulations with the maximum total amplitude of 352cm were observed at Oshima fishing port on March 29, 2020. At that time, the amplification ratio of the ocean long wave at the Oshima fishing port was 8.2.
