Description
Mental fatigue causes a serious problem in workplace such as decreasing work efficiency or some diseases (ex. Heart attack). We propose a method to recognize a user's mental fatigue state resulting from mental loads, such as from office work, based on spatio-temporal changes of luminance in facial images. We extract frequency spectrum from temporal luminance change in cheek area and HOG feature in eyes and mouth area. These features are combined by LLE and the recognition results using them shows user's fatigue state were recognizable with a 92% accuracy in F-measure, which was 10% higher than previous studies.
