Abstract
Peak current mode control is a widely used control method for DC-DC converter because it has higher stability and responsibility. However, if the switching frequency is increased without careful consideration on the turn-off delay time, it may become the frequency dividing operation. In this operation, the switching frequency is not equal to the clock frequency and can not drive with high switching frequency. In this paper, we clarified the mechanism of the frequency dividing operation and derived the relationship between the turn-off delay time and the limit operating frequency. Also, we derived the relationship when we applied the slope compensation as well.
