Description

This study employs bibliometric techniques to explore the characteristics and implications of talent management studies literature in the academic journal over the period from 1997 to 2016. In total 652 English articles were identified by using Scopus and Web of Science. The descriptive analysis allows us to understand how the field of talent management has evolved, especially from the viewpoints of publication volume, leading journals and academics, most-cited articles and authors, represented countries, and frequently-appeared keywords. Additionally, network analysis shows the citation network of talent management literature and the main-path in its network. Following these results, an overview of the past decades and future directions of talent management research have discussed.
