1998年4月,岡山大学医療技術短期大学部棟6階の実験室内にダニが発生した｡ダニは赤色で体長700-900/μmであった.形態的特徴よりハマべアナタカラダニBalaustium murorumの成ダニと同定した｡周りの他の部屋や屋上からはこのダニは発見されず,発生源は特定されなかった｡発生した部屋はビルの6階にあり,建物以外からの侵入は考えられなかった｡
A number of red mites suddenly occurred in a laboratory of School of Health Sciences, Okayama University on 28th April 1998. The laboratory was on the top floor of a 6-story building. The mites crept on the inside surface of a graduated glass cylinder on the laboratory table. From morphological characteristics, the mites were identified as adult Balaustium murorum. However, the origin of the mites was not specified in the present case.
