The Faculty of Education in Okayama University is developing a "Teacher training core curriculum" to foster teachers with practical teaching skills and commencing trials of "Teaching practice portfolios" for students to evaluate themselves on practical teaching skills they acquired. A survey was carried out to clarify the changes in practical teaching skills of the students through gaining and demonstrating practical teaching skills in teaching practice in relation to the indications of self-evaluation in "Teaching practice portfolios". This research considers student awareness of practical teaching skills in teaching practice on the basis of the results.
