パーキンソン病に対する理学療法の一つである全身振動療法について文献的にレビューするとともに、これまで我々が行ってきた全身振動療法に関する主要な研究結果についてまとめた。特に重要な成果は、我々が独自に開発した自動ロッキングチェアを用いてパーキンソン病患者に0.3Hzの周波数で全身振動負荷を与えたところ、パーキンソン病の運動症状の有意な改善が認められたことである。自動ロッキングチェアを用いた遅い周波数の全身振動はパーキンソン症状を軽減させる治療法として有用であると考えられる。パーキンソン病への振動療法の作用機序を解明し、また有効な振動の条件を調べるために、今後さらに研究を積み重ねていく必要がある。　In this paper we review whole body vibration therapy on patients with Parkinson's disease. In addition, we present brief summaries of our experimental studies relevant to whole body vibration performed on healthy persons and patients with Parkinson's disease. In order to investigate the effects of whole body vibration on the human body, we developed an automatic rocking chair. The most important result was that patients with Parkinson's disease showed a significant improvement in motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease after receiving whole body vibration on the automatic rocking chair under a condition of 0.3 Hz in frequency. These results suggest that whole body vibration therapy with a slow frequency is effective in improving motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Comparative studies to search for appropriate parameters when using a rocking chair are needed, thereby, enhancing beneficial effects of whole body vibration in patients with Parkinson's disease.
